What separates a good coach from a great one?

Great coaching is about knowing what to say in the moment and asking the right questions.

Except when it isn’t.

Because two coaches can know the same questions, use the same tools, and have very different impacts.

After more than 30 years of coaching, Michael has noticed that some of the things that separate good coaches from great ones are surprisingly small — how they set up a conversation, how they say the hard thing, what they do when things get messy.

They’re subtle. They’re practical. And once you notice them, you can start practicing them too.

In 30 minutes, you’ll learn:

âś” The subtle moves Michael uses to help tip a coaching conversation from good to great
âś” Practical shifts you can try in your very next coaching conversation
✔What great coaches do differently that are surprisingly easy to miss
✔A different way to think about what actually makes coaching great

And you’ll want to show up live because we’ll have 15 minutes of Q&A where you can ask your coaching questions directly to the guy who wrote The Coaching Habit.

Meet Your Host: MBS

I’m Michael Bungay Stanier, author of many books, including The Coaching Habit, the best-selling coaching book of the century (yes, really!).

Being called a great coach and doing great coaching are two different things.

After 30 years of coaching, I’ve come to notice some of the small, often overlooked things that can make the difference between good coaching and great coaching.

I’ve picked up a few flattering labels along the way — Canadian Coach of the Year, “#1 Thought Leader in Coaching” — but I still think of myself as a teacher who’s learning how to use power wisely, ask questions that matter, and bring out the best in the people around me.

Great coaching isn’t just about the questions. It’s also about how you show up.

In this live session, I’ll share some of the subtle things I’ve learned to notice and practice in my own coaching — so you can experiment with them in yours.

I hope you’ll join me.
