What do you do when you don’t know?

Not knowing can be uncomfortable.

(The answer. What’s really going on. What the other person needs. How this ends.)

And when uncertainty shows up, it’s tempting to make it disappear as quickly as possible.

But what if uncertainty isn’t just something to escape?

Michael has spent more than 30 years working with people in moments where the answer isn’t obvious. And one of the things he’s learned is that when you can stay with uncertainty a little longer, you make room for other possibilities.

And you find a way forward without needing to know exactly where you’ll end up.

In 30 minutes, you’ll learn:

✔ What uncertainty actually feels like and what you tend to do when the discomfort kicks in
✔ What can become possible when you resist rushing toward certainty
✔A few practical ways to move from struggling with uncertainty to navigating it in real time
✔ Why curiosity sometimes asks for something more than a good question — it asks for courage

And if you join live, we’ll have 15 minutes of Q&A where you can ask Michael your questions.

Meet Your Host: MBS

I’m Michael Bungay Stanier, author of The Coaching Habit, the best-selling coaching book of the century (yes, really!), along with a handful of others I’m also quite fond of.

I’ve always been more interested in asking better questions than having perfect answers. Which means I’m drawn to big questions, tiny shifts, and the thrilling awkwardness of figuring things out in public. (AKA staying curious!)

Outside of writing books, hosting a membership group (The Conspiracy), and running a handful of courses, I’ve spoken on some large stages around the world, including TEDx, and my work has been featured in Harvard Business Review, Forbes, and on the BBC.

But my most prized accomplishment: I’ve been married for 32 years. That probably says the most about who I am and how I try to show up in the world — with commitment, curiosity, and a willingness to keep figuring it out.

In this live session, we’ll explore how to stay curious long enough to discover what else might be there for you.

I hope you’ll join me.

Save Your Spot

Has your curiosity led you here?

This session is for you if …

You get hung up on the “what ifs.”

You’re a perfectionist who must have the right answer at all times.

Your Advice Monster jumps out far sooner than either you or the person you’re talking to would like.

The goal of this session is to help you get better at not knowing and doing something useful with it. Staying curious when you really want certainty takes a bit of courage, and this is a good place to start.

If you’re a coach, leader, parent, teacher, mentor, or someone who wants to use curiosity to find more possibility within yourself and those around you, you’re going to get something out of this.
