How to fully commit
As you’re well aware, I’m two months out from the arrival of my new book, and therefore chin-deep in the deep waters of the work of a book launch.
You can imagine me, on my tippy-toes, on the very edge of my balance at the edge of the ocean, head up to keep breathing … and pretty sure there’s a wave on the way 🌊 😬
I’m at that point where I ask myself: do I retreat back to safety? Or do I trust myself to deeper waters?
We’re gonna celebrate …
The Viggo video is SO GOOD (and please watch it now, so I don’t spoil its brilliance).
What I love is that the joke peaks early, dips down through the valley of “is it too much? Should I keep going?” but then charges forwards, onwards, and upwards.
So even though we get this face from Simon …
… Viggo keeps going. He’s fully committed to the joke, to the act, to the experience.
I’m in the valley
I’m no Norweigian strip tease dancer (although a boy can dream), but I feel some of the same “is it too much? Should I keep going?” when it comes to talking about and asking for your support about the new book. Play it safe, and stay quiet? Launch for deeper waters, and trust the ocean?
We’re going to commit.
👉We’ve created The 108 Irregulars for those of you who are willing to help out and be supporters come launch week. (It’s give and take … there are some gifts as a thank you from me, if you sign up.)
👉 We’re hosting a new Summit on June 13th with the brilliant Liz Wiseman and Dr Tasha Eurich. More details to come, but if “Three new practices to thrive in hard times (at work and in life)” sounds intriguing … block of 12 noon – 1:30 pm, June 13th in your calendar now.
👉We’re making a splash on LinkedIn, and hoping that people feature the book in their newsletters and articles.
👉We’re hoping everyone on this email list considers buying two copies of the book. (I know! A bold ambition. But … one book for you, one book for the other important person.)
Thank you for letting me commit fully to this. I’m excited.
(And thanks to Rona B for sharing the Viggo video with me in the first place.)
