Week-By-Week Arc

Week 1
Bringing out your best

Before we can show up for others, we need to show up for and as our whole selves. This week is all about strengthening our self-awareness, humility, and confidence.

Week 3
The best possible process

Decisions to be made, projects to be completed, and relationships to be strengthened are all processes we navigate with others. This week is all about how to balance lightness with groundedness so the journey is one we are all better for having gone on.

Week 2
Bringing out their best

When we’re leading, coaching, or supporting, we need to create the conditions for others to shine. This week is all about how to hold space that cherishes and challenges.

Week 4
The best possible outcome

Whether you are supporting someone’s personal destination, a shared goal, or a company-wide vision, how you relate to the outcome matters. This week is all about how you can shape what’s possible and what impact it has for yourself and others.

You’re already the person
people turn to

(or you really want to be).

But you don’t always feel like you get it right.

You’re the one who listens, who cares, who searches for the right words, who tries your best to help.

But sometimes helping feels … hard.

Maybe you rush in with advice too quickly. Or feel responsible for fixing everything. Or leave conversations feeling more tired than energized.

And quietly … maybe you’re wondering:

“Am I actually helping? Is there a better way to show up here? Or am I just working harder than I need to?”

The moments that matter most aren’t the ones where you say the perfect thing.

They’re the ones where you make people feel more courageous and more capable.

Where you make what’s alive between you more possible.

This course is for those moments.

Bring Out Their Best is about
becoming the person who naturally:

  • slows down enough to notice what’s really happening
  • asks a simple question that unlocks something big
  • brings calm into a room
  • listens long enough for someone to find their courage
  • helps without rescuing
  • holds space without losing yourself
  • stays curious longer (without forcing it)
  • holds boundaries with kindness
  • creates safe and brave spaces
  • navigates tricky moments with confidence
  • offers support without taking over
  • moves from pressure to presence

Here’s What Learners Are Saying

Connected the dots from the last 5 years

This course connected the dots from the last 5 years of coaching content, tools, sessions, and leadership development and brought it all together. ~ Ilana

I no longer spoonfeed

This course helped me be more effective in leading and encouraging people to grow. I no longer spoonfeed. ~ Amalia C.

I’m now consistently showing up in a way I’m proud of

I feel a deeper connection and compassion for the wholeness of myself. I’m now consistently showing up in my life (with all its internal and external complexity) in a way that I’m proud of. ~ Jared Cohen

I’m already putting so many of the tools into practice

I am already putting so many of the tools into practice in different areas of my life including the university course I teach, my toast at my daughter’s college graduation, and the yoga and mindfulness sessions I run for incarcerated individuals. ~ Nora Brookfield

The sense of play I once had is back

What’s most sticking with me is the new sense of freedom I feel to lean into my best self as a coach vs. how I think I “should” be showing up. I have a renewed grounded and light energy. The sense of play I once had is back and I’m truly grateful. ~ Abby Bonham

This showed me how to help my team

This course showed me how to help my team take the initiative to lead the way. I am already working with them to deeply reflect and consider what they want and how I can support them to get that, rather than just finding the solution for them. ~ Natalie

I’m noticing patterns, interrupting defaults, and shifting energy in real time

One of the biggest shifts for me has been moving from “trying to get it right” to being more willing to stay curious, experimental, and human. I’m creating more space for nuance, autonomy, and self-awareness both in my coaching and in how I relate to myself. This course gave me practical ways to notice patterns, interrupt defaults, and shift energy in real time. ~ Jill Aronoff

I feel more alive and connected to myself

This course was a wonderful opportunity to carve out space to step back from the daily grind and reflect. I feel more alive and connected to myself. I came in (sounds weird to write) feeling a distance between what my soul has to give to the world and what I am giving and how I am living. I feel Bring Out Their Best has helped close this gap for me and activated a feeling of greater aliveness. ~ Rhonda St. Croix

Learning with Michael

Imagine a New Way…

People walk away from conversations with you feeling lighter, clearer, braver, more encouraged, and more capable.

With the right tools, you trade scrambling for confidence, overwhelm for calm, over-functioning for connection, and performance for presence.

Now you’re the person your colleagues, kids, clients, and friends trust. Not because you fix things, but because you help them solve their own problems, do their best work, and grow into their best selves.

And you are doing this for yourself, too.

What it’s like learning with us

So engaging

Even though I mainly watched the recordings, it was so engaging I was literally answering Michael’s questions out loud! ~ Jo Fitzgerald

Opportunity to connect with others

I loved the integration sessions with Ainsley. That opportunity to connect with others and deepen the learning was quite valuable. ~ CK

Shot of joy and inspiration

This class was a shot of joy and inspiration! I’m ready to go back to work in a new way! You shared so generously and kept adding more. It’s been a blast. ~ Clarissa Smith

Met everyone exactly where they were

It was amazing to see how the content landed across the different people attending. It seemed like it met everyone exactly where they were. ~ RJS

The space created and held

I was surprised and delighted by the wisdom in the room and the space created and held by Michael for this to shine – recognizing that none of us are starting from zero AND that regardless of how experienced we may be there is more to dig into. Sincere gratitude and appreciation to the entire team at MBS Works. Thank you! ~ Robin

It felt responsive and human

I really appreciated the care, thoughtfulness, and time that both Michael and Ainsley put into this project and course. It genuinely felt like an experience that was created with intention, curiosity, and a willingness to evolve alongside the participants. It felt responsive and human rather than overly polished or rigid.~ Jill Aronoff

So impressed with this team

MBS was my first exposure to coaching 5+ years ago and what drew me into the profession. To have this level of connection was mind boggling and amazingly rewarding. So many takeaways and so much more to explore. This content will live and breathe with me for many moons to come.

Ainsley, you were such a delight. Your calm but targeted approach was a paradox in itself. You taught me so much about the integration process and how to care and not care. I’m so impressed with this team. ~ Ilana

Tools were practical and actionable

What’s sticking with me are all the practical ways to be a better facilitator and the great reflection questions. I enjoyed the creative scales Michael used to be able to check in with clients to see how they are tracking with content or even in a coaching session. All the tools were practical and actionable.

I also really appreciated the call where Michael coached three people in real time. It was super helpful to see him in action applying what we had learned. ~ Dr. Kathy Crockett

Meet your teacher,
Michael Bungay Stanier

I’m Michael, author of many books, including The Coaching Habit, the best-selling coaching book of the century. I’ve spent over three decades helping people unlock insight, courage, and action — one conversation at a time.

I believe that every single one of us wants to feel deeply seen, deeply heard, and deeply encouraged, and that to offer that to others makes more possible for individuals, relationships, organizations, and the world.

This course is my very best attempt to share exactly how to do that with you in a way that’s easy to understand, immediately practical, and surprisingly fun. I can’t wait to learn together and build a movement towards more courageous, more human conversations.

Ainsley Brittain

Meet your facilitator,
Ainsley Brittain

Ainsley and I have been building MBS.works together for more than six years. Every course, idea, and community space we’ve created has been shaped by her mind and heart — and they’re all better for it.

Before joining me, Ainsley designed and led advocacy, community-building, and education projects in the anti-violence, disability, and youth sectors. She brings a grounded, generous presence that helps people relax into themselves, explore, and grow.

She’ll be answering questions and facilitating the practice sessions, helping you connect with other learners and deepen your own learning experience. You’re going to love working with her.

FAQs

Do I need coaching experience?

No. This course is for coaches, parents, managers, teachers, healthcare workers, and anyone who wants to better support themselves, the people they care about and work with, and the groups they are a part of.

I’m an experienced coach. Will this still help?

Absolutely. Learners have told us this course deepened their understanding of their existing coach training and experience, helped them find and strengthen their identity as a coach, gave them tools and frameworks they implemented with their clients within hours of learning them in the course, and left them far more confident in their coaching than they were before.

What if I can’t attend live?

Each teaching session with Michael is offered twice, at 11am and 4pm ET. We have replays, a private podcast feed, lesson summaries, and chat downloads for any sessions you miss or want to revisit — you’re covered.

How much time will this take?

60 minutes twice a week, plus optional live practice time and asynchronous reflections in your workbook. The content is very rich and you’ll have access until late November, so setting aside additional time to revisit and integrate is recommended, but certainly not required to get incredible value from this course.

What’s the difference between this course and The Coaching Habit?

The Coaching Habit is about questions.
This course is about how you show up as a human being. How you influence relationships, processes, and outcomes in the best possible ways. And it includes a ton of new tools, frameworks, and exercises to use wherever you are supporting others that Michael has never taught before.

Will this help me at work? At home?

Yes. Anywhere humans are involved. This course can ripple into every aspect of who you are, how you show up, how you relate, influence, and shape your world and others’ in the best possible ways. The potential impact is profound.

Bring out their best — by bringing out your best.

If you’ve read this far, you’re the exact type of person we created this course for.

Someone thoughtful, caring, and committed.
Someone who wants to overthink less and help others with more confidence and ease.

This course gives you the tools, the presence, and the practice to make that feel delightfully doable.

We’d love to spend four weeks with you.
