You’re already the person
people turn to

(or you really want to be).

But you don’t always feel like you get it right.

You’re the one who listens, who cares, who searches for the right words, who tries your best to help.

But sometimes helping feels … hard.

Maybe you rush in with advice too quickly. Or feel responsible for fixing everything. Or leave conversations feeling more tired than energized.

And quietly … maybe you’re wondering:

“Am I actually helping? Is there a better way to show up here? Or am I just working harder than I need to?”

The moments that matter most aren’t the ones where you say the perfect thing.

They’re the ones where you make people feel more courageous and more capable.

This course is for those moments.

Bring Out Their Best is about
becoming the person who naturally:

  • slows down enough to notice what’s really happening
  • asks a simple question that unlocks something big
  • brings calm into a room
  • listens long enough for someone to find their courage
  • helps without rescuing
  • holds space without losing yourself
  • stays curious longer (without forcing it)
  • holds boundaries with kindness
  • creates safe and brave spaces
  • navigates tricky moments with confidence
  • offers support without taking over
  • moves from pressure to presence

Learning with Michael

Imagine a New Way…

People walk away from conversations with you feeling lighter, clearer, braver, more encouraged, and more capable.

With the right tools,  you trade scrambling for confidence, overwhelm for calm, over-functioning for connection, and performance for presence.

Now you’re the person colleagues, kids, clients, and friends trust — not because you fix things, but because you help them bring out the best in themselves.

LET’S DO THIS TOGETHER

HOW IT WORKS

Four Weeks. Eight Short Sessions. Zero Overwhelm.

Each 60-minute session includes:

  • a 30-minute live teaching session with Michael (recorded)
  • A workbook to capture and integrate the learning
  • A 30-minute peer-to-peer reflection and practice session with Ainsley (optional but highly recommended)

Plus you get:

  • 6-week access to a community platform that includes:
    • Teaching session replays within hours
    • Teaching session audio via private podcast feed
    • Transcripts + summaries
    • Message boards to network and engage with other learners (if you want)

Show up live or catch the replays in the community space. Both work beautifully.

How the Learning is Held

Such a warm, open, non-judgmental space

Ainsley, your presence is what stays with me even now. You create such a warm, open, non-judgemental space for others to be. Your guidance, insightful prompts, and gentle nudges support results. ~ Kathleen Tribe

I’m feeling renewed focus and determination

I wasn’t sure what to expect, or whether I would be just as well watching the recording at a later time, but it was very worthwhile to be there live. I’m feeling renewed focus and determination. ~ Nanette Sloan

I really appreciated Michael pausing

I really appreciated Michael pausing to gather his thoughts before moving forward. So often as coaches we feel we need to ask a question rather than allow silence — but pausing to let an idea emerge can be the better option. ~ Padraig O’Sullivan

You bring focus in the midst of complexity

Michael, you continue to inspire with your creativity, genuine care, and direct feedback. Your depth is infused with intelligence, humility, beautiful humour and appreciation for life. You bring focus in the midst of complexity. ~ Kathleen Tribe

Michael Bungay Stanier

Meet your teacher,
Michael Bungay Stanier

I’m Michael, author of many books, including The Coaching Habit, the best-selling coaching book of the century. I’ve spent over three decades helping people unlock insight, courage, and action — one conversation at a time.

I believe the key to coaching and bringing out the best in others is simply being a little more curious and a little more present in your interactions with those you support.

This course is my very best attempt to share exactly how to do that with you in a way that’s easy to understand, immediately practical, and surprisingly fun. I can’t wait to learn together and build a movement towards more courageous, more human conversations.

Ainsley Brittain

Meet your facilitator,
Ainsley Brittain

Ainsley and I have been building MBS.works together for more than six years. Every course, idea, and community space we’ve created has been shaped by her mind and heart — and they’re all better for it.

Before joining me, Ainsley designed and led advocacy, community-building, and education projects in the anti-violence, disability, and youth sectors. She brings a grounded, generous presence that helps people relax into themselves, explore, and grow.

She’ll be hosting the community space and facilitating the practice sessions, helping you connect with other learners and deepen your own learning experience. You’re going to love working with her.
